Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce the title sintered product not via powder, by homogeneously solidifying a mixture of aluminum hydroxide and an organic substance of high actual carbon ratio into a prescribed form, and sintering the product in a nitrogen-containing atmosphere as the form is kept. CONSTITUTION:Aluminum hydroxide or a substance to give aluminum hydroxide is mixed an organic substance which leaving high volume of carbon residue to give a highly homogenized solid. The solid is formed into a prescribed shape and heated in a nitrogen-containing atmosphere as the shape is kept using sintering jigs to give a sintered product of a prescribed form. The aluminum hydroxide has preferably a purity over 99%. Its particle size is preferably less than 80mu on the average, from the view point of reaction efficiency. The organic substance is preferably an organic polymer which leaves more than 20wt.% of carbon residue.
