Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an image sensing element having high sensitivity to be addressed at random on pixels by composing the photoelectric convertion pixel of the element of a thin superconducting film, and disposing the pixels in a matrix state. CONSTITUTION:Thin superconducting films 13 are disposed in a matrix state on a glass 11 adhered with a plurality of stripe electrodes 12. Further, a plurality of upper stripe electrodes 14 are so formed as to perpendicularly cross the electrodes 12 on the films 13. The electrodes are connected to switches to select the specific film of the matrix by a synchronizing signal. One electrode is connected through the switch to an earth. When a light 7 is irradiated from the rear face of the plate 11, the radiated film 13 is suppressed in the generation of electron pair of a superconducting current bearer, and its critical current value decreases. When a light is irradiated to the selected film 13, a voltage depending upon the incident light amount is generated between the electrodes 12 and 14 to be output as an output signal.
