Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent sludges in machining liquid from entering into a mechanism on the pallet lower surface side, by forming a space used as a machining tank filled therein with the machining liquid, on the upper surface side of the pallet with the use of the lateral peripheral wall of the pallet. CONSTITUTION:Machining liquid 9 is fed into a space inside of the lateral peripheral wall 12 of a pallet 5 in which a workpiece 8 is set and which is secured to a stool 4 in an outer tank 30, through a liquid feed pipe 14 which is lowered down to a predetermined level while the amount of machining liquid is controlled by a float switch. In this condition, an electrode 11 is lowered so as to carry out electric discharge machining. After completion of machining the machining liquid is discharged, and the pallet 5 is released from the stool 4 and is delivered together with the workpiece 8. Thus, the mechanism on the pallet lower surface side, for mounting the pallet to the stool is prevented from being dipped in the machining liquid, thereby it is possible to prevent such a disadvantage that sludges in the machining liquid enter into that part.
