The slave station is provided with the slave station side controller 10 having a function which converts respective line signals to the signal system of the telephone exchange 2 of the slave station and redistributes it to the respective channels, a function which converts the line signals from the slave stations to the signal system of the telephone exchange of the master station and multiplexes and sends them to the master station, and a function which monitors the operation of the trunks of the respective channels, sends the results to the master station side controller 7, and receives control information for the trunk to control it.
