Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for sending a special additional signal from a caller by allowing a store and forward exchange to receive each call when a premises facsimile (FAX) terminal equipment is busy, identifying a call from a public network and an extension to discriminate the designation of destination. CONSTITUTION:If a FAX terminal equipment is busy, a premises exchange receives it in an extension B1, a line terminal T1 of a store and forward exchange (FMA) receives its call and responds to the premises exchange. The FMA awaits a premises display addition signal from a call terminal equipment after the reply. When the premises FAX terminal equipment accesses the FMA, the premises display addition signal is sent by the talking mode while the reply of the incoming call of the access number dial is confirmed. The operation by each FAX terminal equipment varies with some difference and a numeral 1 or a PB signal # is sent by the key operation. Since the incoming to the FMA need not to be known by the FAX terminal equipment of the public network, the premises display additional signal is not sent.

In the system shown in Figure 2, for example, when sending a message from a public network FAX terminal Fx to a premises FAX terminal Fl,
First, the operator of the FAX terminal Fx makes a call. When the FAX terminal F1 is busy, the operator of the FAX terminal Fx identifies the busy signal, disconnects the busy call, and automatically or manually places a new call to the FAX terminal F1. As a means to save the operator's time, when a call that arrives at FAX terminal Fl becomes busy, the private branch exchange PBX sends the extension AI corresponding to line DI while keeping the call that was busy on hold. A call is made to the facsimile storage/switching machine FM using the representative extension B1, and the extension number of the FAX terminal F1 of the extension A1, which has been received from the line D1 and temporarily stored, is sent to the facsimile storage/switching machine FM. A communication channel is established between the storage and exchange device and the FM, and the message is received. Facsimile storage and switching machine FM later became FA.
A call is made using the extension number of the X terminal F1, and the stored message is transmitted to the FAX terminal F1.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) However, in the above system, when a call is received from a FAX terminal accommodated in the public network to a FAX terminal in the premises via a private branch exchange and a facsimile storage exchange accommodated in the private branch exchange, In this case, the originating fax terminal first connects to the facsimile storage exchange using a dial-in method, and then uses a specific additional signal based on the PB double signal to contact the destination FA to the storage exchange.
This is not common as it requires inputting the extension number of the X terminal.

It is assumed that a message is sent from a FAX terminal Fx on a public network to a FAX terminal Fl on the premises. From the fax terminal Fx, F
When the dial-in number of the AX terminal Fl is dialed, a connection is normally made directly to the FAX terminal Fl via the private branch exchange PBX. Here, if the FAX terminal F1 is in a busy state, the private branch exchange PBX receives the call on the extension B1 whose representative number is the extension AI corresponding to the dial-in line DI, according to normal processing. Facsimile storage and exchange machine F
MA's line terminal T1 accepts the call. Referring to FIG. 3 below, when an incoming call signal to the line terminal Tl is detected, the loop is closed and a response is sent to the private branch exchange PBX (step Sl). This response is notified to the FAX terminal Fx by stopping the line reverse signal or ringback tone, and the FAX terminal Fx becomes ready for communication. The facsimile storage and exchange FMA waits for a certain period of time T, e.g. 2 to 3 seconds, after the response.
and waits for a local indication additional signal from the calling terminal. The on-premises display additional signal is sent by the on-premises FAX terminal Fl-Fn in the call mode after confirming the answer to the incoming call after dialing the access number when accessing the facsimile storage/exchange FMA. Although the operation of each FAX terminal differs slightly depending on the model, it is assumed that the number "1" or the PB double signal # is sent by key operation. Then, at Fx and Fy of public network FAX terminals, Since the FAX terminals Fx and Fy do not need to know about the arrival of a call to the facsimile storage/exchange FMA, they do not send out this additional private area display signal.

When the premise display additional signal is not received (S2), the facsimile storage/exchange FMA immediately sends out a called station identification signal similar to that when a call is received at a facsimile terminal (S8).
). If the additional premises indication signal is not received, it is generally due to the call being made from the public network, but due to an incorrect operation when making a call from within the premises, the additional premises indication signal may not be sent. A determination is made. The facsimile storage and switching equipment determines whether or not the originator's identification number (telephone number) has been sent as part of the facsimile procedure signal (S4), and if it has been sent, it also determines whether the identification number (telephone number) of the sender has been sent as part of the facsimile procedure signal. Referring to the list, it is determined whether the identification number of the sender is listed on the list (S5). If the call falls under the list, the call is terminated as an abnormal call (SO). If the call does not fall under the list, it is determined that the call is from outside the premises, and in this case and if the caller identification number is not sent in step S4, the incoming call is determined based on the extension number conversion table registered in the message file MF. line terminal T
The subscriber number of the FAX terminal Fl is found by searching using the location information of the FAX terminal Fl as a key (S7). Subsequently, a message transmission request signal is sent to the FAX terminal Fx (S8). When the message is transmitted, the facsimile storage/exchange machine FM receives and stores the message (S9). When the transmission is completed, incoming call termination processing is performed (S10). Thereafter, a call is made to the FAX terminal Fl using the retrieved subscriber number and the stored message is transmitted (S11).

Next, in step S2, when a premise display addition signal is received, it is assumed that the call is from a terminal within the premise, and in this case, no search is performed using the extension number conversion table. In this case, as part of the service request signal from the calling terminal in the premises, the above-mentioned identification number of the calling source, destination network number, service type designation number, etc. shall be transmitted sequentially as a PB signal. The same applies to SLL) and receives these (SL2). Furthermore, if necessary, during this transmission/reception, a voice guidance signal is sent out from the voice guidance unit VGC (the same applies to step 11). When the reception of the service request signal is completed, the reception and storage of the message, the transmission of the message, etc. are performed in steps 88 to Sll in the same manner as described above. In this case, when requesting to send a message in step S8, the receiving station identification signal or guidance such as pressing the start button for message transmission is sent to the originating terminal.

(Effects of the Invention) As explained above, according to the present invention, for each call, if the facsimile terminal in the premises is busy, the facsimile storage and switching system automatically operates based on the conventional function of the private branch exchange. Since the facsimile storage and switching equipment distinguishes between calls from the public network and calls from extensions to determine the destination, there is no need to send special additional signals from the calling side. , does not require any special modifications to the call processing functionality of the private branch exchange. Also, the dialing signal from the public network can use the same pulse-type signal as a conventional telephone.
