Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous insertion of an ink cartridge by inserting a positioning pin into a pin hole corresponding to a position wherein it is fitted in a groove of a cartridge setting element. CONSTITUTION:An ink tank 4 fitted to an ink jet head 3 is connected to ink supply ports 9 of an ink cartridge case 8 by pipes 7. In the bottom of each small chamber of the case 8, a groove 13 for discriminating the color of ink contained in a cartridge is formed in a different position from others. Four holes provided in the base of an ink cartridge 11 correspond to the positions of the grooves of the case 8 respectively. When a positioning pin 12 is inserted into a hole position specified for each color, only a specified ink cartridge is coupled to a needle 10 of the ink supply port 9. By this construction, erroneous insertion of the cartridge of each color is prevented, and also the mixture of colors of ink can be prevented.

ンタ用インクカートリッジ機構に関する。 1従来の技術“[ 近年、オフィスオートメーションの普及により事務所内
で文書を作成し、印字する要求が高まり、低騒音かつ印
字品位の良好なプリンタが求められている。これ等の要
求を満たずプリンタとしてインクジェット漢字プリンタ
及びインクジェットカラープリンタの実用化が計られて
いる。 従来、この種のプリンタは、ガラス管もしくは、板の表
面にフォトエツチング等の技術を用いてノズル部、イン
ク加圧室及びインク供給部を形成しインク加圧室の外壁
に接着されたピエゾ振動子の屈曲変形により、インク加
圧室を加圧し、ノズル先端よりインク滴を噴射させてい
る。 この従来のインクジェット機構の一例としては、第2図
の構成図に示されるものがある。このインフジエラ)〜
ヘッド3へのインク供給は、プラテン1に巻付けられた
印字用紙2に文字を印字するために、プラテン1に沿っ
て走査可能なキャリア5上に設置されたインクジェット
ヘッド1の装置内任意の位置に固定されたインク供給口
9を交換可能なインクカートリッジ11に結合して行な
われる。このカートリッジ11とインク供給口9との結
合は、インク供給口9の針10ヘインクカートリッジ1
1の一端を挿入することによって行なわれる。 [発明が解決しようとする問題点〕 この従来のカラーインクジェットプリンタには、前述の
構造のイエロー、マゼンダ、シアン、のインク三色を一
体としたカートリッジと、ブラックインクをつめた形状
の異なるカートリッジとを備え、三色を一体としたカー
トリッジは一色が無くなるとカーI・リッジ全体を交換
する必要があり、不経済であるという欠点がある。更に
、一部形状の異なる二つのカートリッジが必要であるた
め、コスI・アップの要因となった。又、4色のインク
のカートリッジとして同一形状のカー1ヘリツジを用い
た場合、カー■・リッジの誤挿入が行われると、混色を
生じ、印字及び印画品質上、大きな悪影響を及ぼすとい
う欠点がある。 本発明の目的は、このような欠点を除き、三色を一体と
した場合、−色が無くなった際カートリッジ交換といっ
た不経済な欠点を無くし、かつ各4色同一形状を用いて
も誤挿入防止ができるカラ−プリンタ用インクカー1〜
リツジ機構を提供することにある。 1問題点を解決するための手段〕 本発明のカラープリンタ用インクカートリッジ機構の構
成は、カートリッジ挿入方向と平行にそれぞれ異なった
位置に渦を有する複数n個のカー1ヘリツジ装着部と、
このカートリッジ装着部のそれぞれの渦と嵌合する位置
に対応してそれぞれピン穴を有しかつこれらピン穴の1
つに溝内をスライドできる位置決めピンがそれぞれ挿入
されそれぞれ異った色のインクを充填するn個のインク
カートリッジとを備え、これらインクカーI・リッジの
誤挿入を防止したことを特徴とする。 [゛実施例〕 以下、図面を参照して本発明を更に詳しく説明する。 第1図は本発明の一実施例のインクカートリッジ機横を
示す部分斜視による構成図である。このインクジェッl
〜プリンタは、プラテン1に巻き付けられた印字用紙2
」−に印字又は印画するため、インクジェットヘット3
をプラテン1に沿ってガイド軸6を案内にして走査でき
る様に、キャリア5+−に設置されている。このキャリ
ア5上に固定されたインクジェットヘット3に小さなイ
ンクタンク4が取り付けられている。 このインクタンク4は、装置内任意の位置に固定されて
いるインク供給口9へパイプ7で結合されている。この
インク供給口9は装置カバーの一部に外部からインクカ
ートリッジの脱着ができる様に設けられたインクカート
リッジケース8の一部に取り付けられている。また、イ
ンクカートリッジケース8は、4つの同一の形状の小室
に分けられかつ各小室の底部には、各々異なる位置にカ
ートリッジに含まれるインクの色を識別するための講1
3が形成されている。   一方、インクカートリッジ11は底面に4つの一5= 穴が開いており、それぞれがインクカートリッジケース
8の各講位置に対応している。そのため、各色の指定さ
れた穴位置に位置決めピン12を挿入すると、指定され
たカートリッジケース8の小室のみにその色のカートリ
