Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently decompose H2O2 within a short time by a small amount of a treatment agent and to suppress the concn. of the total solid in treated water to a lower level, by a method wherein the ground liver tissue of an animal or the extract thereof is added to and mixed with waste water containing hydrogen peroxide. CONSTITUTION:The ground liver tissue of an animal or the extract thereof added to and mixed with waste water acts as an H2O2 decomposing catalyst and, for example, even if small quantity of about 100mg/l is added to waste water containing 3,000ppm of H2O2 as liver tissue, H2O2 can be decomposed within a short time. The final total solid substance in treated water comes to an extremely low value of about 100mg/l. As a liver tissue to be used, ones of domestic animals such as a cow, a horse or a pig and poultries such as chicken are suitable.

(Prior art) Ultrapure water production lines using the RO method (reverse osmosis method) are regularly cleaned using hydrogen peroxide water with a concentration of about 1% for purposes such as recycling and algae killing. Washing water is discharged as wastewater. Generally, this wastewater is the above-mentioned washing water plus water for finishing washing, but it is
Since it contains 3500 pp2 of ppm, it is necessary to decompose it.

Conventionally, as a method for treating such hydrogen peroxide-containing wastewater, a method has been adopted in which sodium sulfite is added and mixed into the wastewater and hydrogen peroxide is decomposed by the following reaction.

.. Seven times as much Na2SO3 is required, and approximately 4.2 times as much total solids will be generated in the treated water. This means that, for example, the I+ 202 concentration in wastewater before treatment is 33
00pp-, the salt concentration of the treated water is about 13900
This means that the salt concentration in effluent water will be as high as 1/1, which goes against the recent trend of reducing the salt concentration in effluent water as much as possible for environmental conservation. Containing large amounts of roots (SO4) is a big problem.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In order to achieve the above object, the method for treating hydrogen peroxide-containing wastewater according to the present invention adds ground liver tissue of a living organism or its juice to hydrogen peroxide-containing wastewater. It is characterized in that hydrogen peroxide is decomposed by mixing.

(Structure and operation of the invention) In the present invention, the ground liver tissue of an organism or its juice that is added and mixed into the wastewater acts as a decomposition catalyst for H2O2, and as is clear from the treatment test results in Examples below, for example, For wastewater containing 3300 pp+* of 8202, 820 can be decomposed in a short time even with a very small usage amount of about 100 μ/1 in terms of liver tissue.

Although it is not clear why such ground liver tissue products and juices act as catalysts for decomposing H2O2, it is thought that catalase, which is contained in relatively large amounts in these products, exerts a catalytic function.

As the above-mentioned liver tissue, livers of livestock such as cows, horses, pigs, and sheep, and poultry such as chickens are preferable in terms of ease of handling and cost. In addition, to use these liver tissues as a treatment agent, it is possible to add them to wastewater as they are as a ground slurry, but from the viewpoint of avoiding an increase in the amount of organic matter, it is preferable to use these liquids. As the liquid liquid, a supernatant liquid obtained by dispersing the above-mentioned ground product in water, a squeezed liquid of the ground product, etc. can be suitably used.

The amount of such processing agent used is 3000 at H20z4 degrees.
For wastewater with a concentration of ~3500 ppm, the raw material liver tissue should be 5011 f71 or more, particularly preferably 7
It is best to set the amount to about 0 .mu./l to 200 .mu./l; if the amount is too low, the activity will be lost due to poisoning before the decomposition of H2O2 is completed.

Since the treated water after the H2O2 decomposition described above contains organic substances from the treatment agent, it is preferable to remove the organic substances together with other wastewater as a post-process by biological treatment or the like.
