Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate correcting data in a halfway stage to improve the efficiency by dividing patterns to line drawings, photographs, and characters and inputting them to a computer and generating synthesized patterns by the computer to edit data and generating the first film block copy from photograph data and generating the second film block copy from line drawing and character data. CONSTITUTION:Data of line drawings, photographs, and characters are inputted to the computer independently of one another and are synthesized; and in the stage of layout design 22 on a monitor, data are synthesized and are displayed on a display device and layout is corrected. After the final layout design, the picture is hard-copied and output picture check 23 is performed. After the output picture is checked, the printing process is advanced on a basis of this picture. With respect to photographs, a film negative is generated automatically by the computer in the stage of scanner film negative automatic output 24. With respect to line drawings and characters, a film negative is generated automatically by the computer in the stage of an electrophotocomposer film negative automatic output 25.

For the photo part of the product, paper printing 5 is performed to enlarge or reduce the film original 4 to a predetermined size, and then cut and paste it along the outline of the product to create a photo plate as shown in Figure 5. Perform step 6 to create the photo version. For the text of the product's name, price, etc., use a phototypesetting machine to type the text manually based on the product restore, and then cut and paste the text to create a text block as shown in Figure 6. Perform character block creation 9.

Next, the photographic block shown in Fig. 5 and the text block shown in Fig. 6 are overlaid on top of the roofing plate (not shown in Fig. 4), the design shown in Fig. 3 is completed, and the block proofing is carried out. Do 10. If there are any corrections, create the fukiseishita, photo hanshita, and text hanshita again. When the block proofing 10 is completed, color-based original plates are created 16 based on these blocks.
Separate processes are performed for the photographic version and the text version.

First, regarding the underlayment of the roof, a camera photograph 11 of the underlined printing is performed, and a negative version of the line drawing as shown in FIG. 7 is created. As for the photo version, instead of just taking a photo of the photo version with a camera, it's the same as the original film manuscript! An original film is created for B. Regarding the character block, the camera photograph 13 of the character block is carried out in the same manner as the construction of the roof, and a negative plate of the characters as shown in FIG. 9 is created. At the same time, cutout mask plate creation 15 is performed. This cutout mask plate is for covering a part of the film original plate, etc., and is, for example, as shown in FIG. 10. The conventional printing method as described above is disadvantageous in that it requires much manual work, and when corrections are made, the work load is extremely heavy. In particular, the layout of flyers and catalogs often needs to be revised many times, and prices are often changed just before the printing process, resulting in extremely poor work efficiency. For example, if corrections are made at the 10th block proofreading stage, it is necessary to manually create the fukishige, photo block, and character block again. As described above, a more efficient printing method has been desired for some time.

A feature of the present invention is that, in a method for printing flyers and catalogs, the designs of flyers and catalogs to be printed are divided into line drawings, photographs, and characters, and the line drawings, photographs, and character data are separated separately. input into a computer, this computer creates a design that synthesizes these data, outputs it, edits each data based on this output result,
A first film original is created based on the edited photographic data, a second film original is created based on the line drawing data and character data collected in rA, and the first film original and the second film original are created. The printing plate and proof printing are carried out using the printer, and printing is carried out after the proofing is completed, making it easy to make mid-stage corrections and to perform printing with high efficiency.

(Embodiments of the Invention) The present invention will be described below based on illustrated embodiments. 1st
The figure is a flow diagram of a leaflet printing process according to the present invention. Here, steps that are not shown in FIG. 2 but are the same as those in the process diagram are indicated using the same reference numerals. Now, if we consider printing a flyer as shown in Figure 3, layout instructions 1 for line drawings, film manuscript 4 for photographs, and product restoration for text are given by the orderer as in the conventional process. . Next, based on these data, line drawings, photographs, and text data are input separately into a computer and synthesized. This process is the process of layout digin 22 using the monitor. The data regarding the line drawing given by the layout instruction sheet 1 may be obtained by specifying two-dimensional coordinates using an input device such as a keyboard, tablet, or mouse while looking at a computer display device, for example. The photographic data is input into a computer by performing color scanner separation 20 on the film original 4. For example, it is sufficient to perform color separation for the three colors RGB and import each as raster data. Furthermore, the data with the characters 〈〈 are entered in advance through a word processor input 21 regarding product restoration. That is, a table of product names, explanatory notes, prices, etc. is stored in the computer's storage device via a Japanese word processor. Allocation by monitor 2
In step 2, these data are combined, displayed on a display, and the layout is corrected.

The image of each product is displayed at a predetermined position by displaying the line drawing data and using the photograph data captured by the color scanner separation 20. II by computer! ! Since it is an i-image display, each layout can be easily modified using a tablet or the like. Next, a list of products already loaded into the computer is searched, and character data such as product names and prices are displayed at predetermined positions. As a result, an image as shown in FIG. 3 is displayed on the non-color monitor.

When the final layout design is completed, this image is hard-copied and an output image check 23 is performed. This step corresponds to the step of proofreading 10 in the conventional method shown in FIG. In the conventional method, up to this stage, it was necessary to create a block copy, a photo block, and a letter block, but with the method of the present invention, these blocks are not required at all, and all of them can be created. The data will be stored in the computer's storage device. Therefore, the effort required to reach this stage is greatly reduced. Moreover, since the results are obtained as a color hard copy, the orderer can check while looking at an image that is almost the same as the finished flyer. At this check stage, it is necessary to make 4 [
If it is, the process of layout design 22 using the monitor may be repeated again. There is no need to recreate the original as in the past, and it is only necessary to output a hard copy after inputting a predetermined end while looking at a color monitor.

As described above, a major feature of the present invention is that the layout design process can be carried out in an interactive format while constantly watching the monitor, and can be confirmed by taking a hard copy of the creation screen.

After checking the output image, the printing process proceeds based on this image. That is, first, the color-specific master plates are created 16, but since the data for line drawings, photographs, and characters are all stored in the computer, a master block for each is created as in the conventional method, and this is photographed with a camera. : There's no need to complain. For photographs, automatic output 24 of a scanner film original is performed, and a film original as shown in FIG. 8 is automatically created by a computer. The data for each photo has already been manually entered into the computer's storage device in the color scan step 11@20, and the data about the position at which each photo is to be laid has also been given to the computer, so the scanner film By connecting the output device to a computer, a film master can be automatically created.

There is no longer any need to photograph each block with a camera or manually typesetting it, as was done in the past. After this, as in the conventional process, a printing plate/proof printing 17 is performed, and if there is a correction, a color-specific original plate correction 18 is performed, and after the correction is completed, printing 19 is performed.

As described above, according to the present invention, in the method for printing flyers and catalogs, the design of the flyers and catalogs to be printed is divided into line drawings and photographic characters and input into a computer, and these are synthesized on the computer to create the necessary information. By making corrections and automatically creating color-coded originals based on the computer output data, mid-stage corrections can be easily made, and there is no need to create each version.
This enables efficient printing.
