Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the simultaneous reproduction of both still pictures and voices by using a medium to which these still pictures and voices are recorded together with the information codes showing the recorded positions of voices, a still picture/voice reader, a still picture memory device and a controller for the voice reader. CONSTITUTION:The still picture video signals and sound signals are recorded on different tracks of an optical disk medium 1. The start/end time code AC of the sound signal as well as the video time code VTC are superposed on the video signal. Then the voice time code ATC is superposed on the sound signal. A central control circuit 21 actuates a still picture reproducer with designation of the code VTC. The video signals are written to a memory 8 via an HPF 4, a changeover switch and a video demodulation circuit 6. Then the still pictures are reproduced by a minitor 11 and the code VTC is demodulated by a demodulation circuit 15 for the low frequency component separated by an LPF 14. Then the code AC is demodulated by a demodulation circuit 18. These demodulated codes are sent to the circuit 21. The circuit 21 shifts the tracing position of an optical head 2 to attain the coincidence with the start time code of the sound signal. The sound signal is also separated by the HPF 4 and the LPF 14 and their high frequency components are demodulated into sound signals by a voice demodulation circuit 12 via a switch 5. While the low frequency components are demodulated into the code ATC by the circuit 15 and sent to the circuit 21.
