PURPOSE:To offer absence transfer services only when a user is absent and to insure said services against being transferred when the user is present irrespective of whether or not the transfer service is set by detecting the absence of the user of a key telephone system by a sensor part installed in the key telephone set. CONSTITUTION:The key telephone system 1 is provided with a sensor part 2 and a processing part 3. The transmitting part of the sensor 2 transmits light or ultrasonic waves, and a receiving part detects the existence or absence of the reflection to know the absence. A main equipment 4 is provided with a CPU 5, a memory device MEM 6 and an interface part INF 7.
