It is necessary to use bundle IO. This is because if an optical fiber bundle is made by randomly assembling optical fibers, the position of each pixel of the incident image will be completely random at the output end, making the image meaningless.

In the output image, the position of each pixel is random. However, the arrangement positional relationship of the optical fibers on both end faces of this optical fiber bundle is stored in advance, and the output image is determined based on this arrangement positional relationship. The position of each pixel in the image is transformed, so
The original incident image is reproduced.

That is, in this randomly assembled optical fiber bundle 1, a large number of optical fibers are irregularly assembled, and the arrangement positional relationship of the optical fibers on both end faces is random. Therefore,
An image incident from the input end face appears with random positional relationships among pixels at the output end face. This emitted image is captured by a television camera 2 and temporarily stored in an image memory 3.

。On the other hand, the array memory 4 stores an array table showing the relationship between the array at the input end and the array at the output end. Once the randomly assembled optical fiber bundle l is created (a large number of optical fibers are fixed in a gathered state), the arrangement relationship at both ends becomes fixed. Therefore, the arrangement relationship at both ends specific to this optical fiber handle l is investigated in advance, and an arrangement table prepared based on this is stored. And the controller 5 is
The positions of each pixel of the image read from the image memory 3 are rearranged based on the above arrangement table. Therefore, if the image whose arrangement has been converted by the controller 6 is displayed on the CI'IT display device 6, the original image will be displayed. (incident at the input end of the optical fiber bundle l) will be reproduced.

However, in this embodiment, the random image emitted from the output end is directly converted into a regular array without storing it in the image memory. In FIG. 2, random images of the output end of optical fiber bundle l are taken by random scan camera 7. In FIG. This random scan camera 7 does not sequentially perform readout scanning for each horizontal scanning line like a normal television camera, but can arbitrarily (that is, randomly) determine the readout order for each pixel. , the scan is controlled by the scan controller 8 based on the array table stored in the array memory 4. That is, random scan camera 7
Then, each pixel of the captured random image is sequentially scanned based on the array table showing the array relationship at both ends of the optical fiber fist handle 1. As a result, the random scan camera 7 randomly scans each pixel. The video signal is output with the position of each pixel returned to its original normal position.

Even if the relationship is random, images can be transmitted correctly. Therefore, it is possible to use a randomly assembled optical fiber bundle in which a large number of optical fibers are appropriately assembled, which greatly simplifies manufacturing.
