Abstract

PURPOSE:To breed monogastric livestock such as pig, chicken, etc., suppressing diarrhea and loose passage caused by the administration of highly nutrient feed, etc., by feeding the livestock with feed added with a slight amount of L- threonine. CONSTITUTION:L-threonine is added to a feed in an amount of 0.001-1.0wt%, preferably 0.01-0.5%, and mixed homogeneously. The obtained mixture is administered to a monogastric livestock such as pig, chicken, etc.

In recent years, compound feeds for livestock have tended to be high in protein and high in calories in order to accelerate the growth rate of livestock and increase feed efficiency. However, from the viewpoint of the physiology of livestock, such highly nutritious feed imposes an excessive burden on digestion and absorption, resulting in monogastric livestock suffering from diarrhea and other physiological causes. Symptoms of loose stool often occur, which poses a problem in breeding management. In other words, the feed fed to monogastric livestock for the above-mentioned purposes frequently causes symptoms of diarrhea and loose stools, and instead of fulfilling its original purpose, it actually reduces the productivity of livestock breeding, so countermeasures are required. is strongly requested.

According to the present invention, by feeding feed containing an extremely small amount of 1,-threonine as described above, even if a highly nutritious feed as described above is fed, the effects of 1,-threonine can be reduced. It becomes possible to effectively suppress the occurrence of symptoms of diarrhea and loose stools.

Therefore, the amount of water consumed was measured and the amount of water consumed/feed intake was calculated. was used as data for determining fecal properties. That is, since chickens excrete urine and feces together through the cloaca, the amount of water they drink is directly related to the quality of their feces.
