When a password and the quantity of copies to be taken are inputted at an operation part 6, the numeral (8) of the counter of the card 1 is read under the command of a control part 7 and when the password is correct, a copying part 9 is instructed to take a copy. When the numeral (8) of the counter decreases to (0), the copying operation is stopped and a speech is synthesized 19 to annunciate that the copying operation is impossible through a speaker 20.
