In conventional cameras with a built-in or attachable data imprinting device, the numbers and symbols to be imprinted are formed in a solid pattern, the desired data is created by selecting a dial from outside the camera, and this is photographed using light emitted from a small light source. At the same time, there were many things that were imprinted on the film surface. The number of imprint patterns in this type of camera is selected by a dial provided separately for each digit, so there are only a limited number of them, and in particular, it is possible to freely compose and imprint words using alphabets, kana characters, etc. This was inconvenient because the device became complicated. On the other hand, a method has been proposed in which a plurality of light sources, such as light emitting diodes, are arranged to form an arbitrary character or number pattern, and the patterns are selectively emitted electronically to effect imprinting.

The present invention uses a dot light source array in which a plurality of light emitting elements are arranged in a row to imprint data during film feeding, thereby making it possible to imprint data using the electronic circuit using a small number of light emitting elements. At the same time, in order to eliminate problems that occur when data is imprinted when the film is fed using the dot light source array, it is detected whether or not the film has been fed a predetermined amount, and the light source array is activated every time the film is fed a predetermined amount. The dot light source array is driven and the light source array is arranged at an angle, making it possible to imprint high-quality characters and numbers using the dot light source array.

Next, the operation of imprinting desired data on a photograph using the data imprinting apparatus of the present invention will be explained. First, desired data, such as "78-9, TOKYO" in FIG. 5, is set by operating the keys or rotary switch of the data input section 1 shown in FIG.
A subject is exposed onto a film 9 using a lens 8, and before the film is wound up, the data is stored in shift registers S1 to S7 of a storage section by operating a button or the like. Note that this storage operation may be performed before exposing the film. Next, the camera's winding mechanism winds the film at the end of the photograph.
This film winding is transmitted from the sprocket 4 to the second rotating section 101 of the winding detection section, and the light from the light source 103 is received by the light receiving element 104 through the slit 102 of the second rotating section, and a pulse 105 is generated at its output. . This pulse is controlled by a one shot circuit or the like of the output control section 6 to have a pulse width depending on the film sensitivity, etc., and is inputted to gates G1 to G7 in FIG. Further, a signal from the output control section is applied as a shift pulse to the shift registers S1 to S7 , and the contents of the registers are shifted to the right and taken out.
In this way, the position of the imprint light emitting elements arranged in a line at appropriate positions of one frame of the film taken is scanned in the winding direction, and at this time, dots of light are sequentially emitted according to the data retrieved from the register. Imprint dot matrix data on the surface. The data imprinted in this manner is printed together with the negative image by developing the film.

As described above, in the data imprinting camera of the present invention, the date and other arbitrary information can be imprinted very easily, and the data can be entered into the device either before taking a picture or before winding up the number of shots. It is also possible to input desired data such as letters, numbers, and symbols using a dot matrix. Recently, there are devices that automatically set the date using a digital clock device, etc., but by incorporating this device, the date etc. can be automatically stored in the shift register at the moment of shutter release, and this can be imprinted when winding. This can be easily achieved using the apparatus of the present invention.
