In recent years, there has been a rapid switch from manual welding to semi-automatic and fully automatic welding in order to save labor and increase efficiency in welding. In these types of automatic welding, various parts necessary for automatic welding, such as a welding torch, a wire feeding device, and a torch swinging mechanism, are mounted on a self-propelled cart and welding is carried out, but in order to achieve the desired welding result, Improvements have been made not only to improve the efficiency of the system, but also to reduce the burden on the workers.

Self-propelled carts are usually simple, with running wheels attached to the front, back, left, and right sides of an underframe, and motors for driving the wheels. However, because they are made of iron, they are heavy. And on this trolley, there is a torch, its position/angle adjustment mechanism,
When the swinging mechanism, wire feeding mechanism, and in some cases flux supply and collection mechanisms are installed, the total weight becomes considerable, and the operator has to set them up.
It is not easy to perform operations such as changing the direction.

Therefore, efforts were made to reduce the weight, and one of these efforts was to use magnets. In other words, when a magnet is attached to a cart and a suction force is applied to the steel plate that forms the running path (this is often one of the members to be welded), the apparent gravity increases, increasing the stability of the cart, and making it easier to move on slopes, etc. It runs smoothly, and since it doesn't actually weigh that much, it's easy to operate once you cut off the magnetic attraction.

One method for attaching magnets to a truck is to use the running wheels themselves as magnets. However, in this method, since the contact between the wheel and the running surface is a line contact, most of the magnets are separated from the running surface and hardly contribute to adsorption, so the adsorption force is not sufficient. There are problems such as magnetic substances (such as welding spatter) and dust being attracted thereto, which obstruct smooth running. There is also a method of installing magnets inside the bogie, and although this method prevents the magnet from adhering to magnetic substances on the road, the attraction force is weakened and is not effective because there is a large gap between the magnet and the road.
The method of mounting the magnets on the underside of the cart so that there is a small gap between them and the running path is effective because the entire bottom surface of the magnet faces the running path with a small gap in between, which provides a large attraction force. The smaller the gap, the greater the adsorption force, but if there are irregularities in the travel path, there is a risk of collision. This is especially a problem when welding a curved surface. If the surface is convex, the gap between the wheels and the carriage is smaller than that between the wheels, so if the gap between the magnet and the track is small, there is a risk of contact or collision. If the surface is concave, the magnet will be far away from the running path.

The present invention provides a curved surface self-propelled welding cart that has improved the above points, and is characterized by the fact that the self-propelled cart is equipped with a welding torch and a guide roller for following the welding line. Running wheels with non-magnetic treads are installed on the left and right sides, and copying rollers are installed on the left and right sides of the center of the trolley, which are attached to vertically movable support plates and can rotate in constant contact with the running surface. A pair of magnets are disposed opposite to the magnetic running surface, one end of which is rotatably mounted around the axis of the running wheel, and the other end of which is mounted on the copying roller shaft. This will be explained in detail below with reference to the drawings.

Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention taking horizontal fillet welding as an example, Figs. 2 and 3 are views showing parts that do not appear in Fig. 1, and Fig. 2 is a front view. , the truck portion is shown in cross section, and FIG. 3 is a plan view taken from the line A--A in FIG. 2, looking downward. In these figures, 1 and 1' are the materials to be welded, and 1 is the running path for the truck 2. Carriage 2 consisting of a U-shaped frame body
A traveling motor 3 and traveling wheels 5 are attached to the vehicle, and these wheels are connected to the motor 3 through a sprocket 4 and a chain 8 and driven. 7
is an idler. The treads of the wheels 5 are made of rubber with a high coefficient of friction, ensuring smooth running. Disc-shaped electromagnets 1 are mounted on the shafts 6 of the front and rear running wheels, respectively.
One of the two supports 12a is rotatably attached, and the other support 12b abuts the support shaft 10 of the surface copying roller 11 from above. Note that the terms "up and down" and "left and right" here refer to when the cart is placed on a horizontal surface. The support shaft 10 has rollers 11 rotatably attached to both ends thereof, and a pair of support plates 9 on the inside thereof.
The support plate 9 is dovetail-fitted into a receiving plate 18 fixed to the truck 2, and is movable in the vertical direction. As shown in FIG. 2, one of the supports 9 is short and the other is long, the short one being attached to the inside of one side wall of the truck and the long one being attached to the outside of the other side wall,
A holder 15 that supports a welding torch 16 is attached to this longer support plate 9. Reference numeral 14 denotes a first guide roller that rotates in contact with the other part 1' of the workpiece to be welded.
As shown in the figure, there are a pair of left and right support arms, and the support arms are attached to the wall of the truck on the side where the welding torch is attached. 20 is a wire feeding motor, and 21 is a wire reel, and in FIG. 1, these are installed outside the truck.

During welding, a pair of front and rear guide rollers 14 are used to maintain the distance between the cart and the material to be welded 1', and the motor 3 drives the wheels 5 to run the cart. This is carried out by gas-encased arc welding or the like while aiming at the abutting portions of and 1'. At this time, the magnet 12 faces the traveling path, in this example, the workpiece 1 to be welded, with a small gap therebetween, and attracts the truck to the traveling path. Fourth
This adsorption situation will be explained with reference to FIGS.

FIG. 1 shows the case where the running path 1 is a horizontal plane, and the lower surfaces of the pair of magnets 12 are parallel to the running path 1, with a small gap G
Opposing through. FIG. 5 shows a case where the running path is a concave surface, and in this case, the surface copying roller 11 moves downward together with its support shaft 10 and support plate 9, and the magnet 1
As shown in the figure, the shaft 10 side of the magnets 2 and 12 is lowered, and the distance between the lower surface of the magnet and the running path is maintained almost unchanged. FIG. 6 shows a case where the running path is a convex surface. In this case, the copying roller 11 is pushed up by the running path together with the support shaft 10 and the support plate 9, and the shaft 10 side of the magnets 12, 12 is pushed up as shown in the figure, and the lower surface of the magnet The distance from the travel path remains essentially unchanged.

As explained above, according to the bogie of the present invention, the entire lower surface of the magnet faces the running path, and if the running path becomes concave or convex, the surface-copying roller moves up and down accordingly, and the magnet also tilts as it runs. Since a substantially constant gap with the road is always maintained, a large suction force can always be ensured, the bogie can run smoothly and stably, and the weight of the bogie can be reduced. Furthermore, when a torch is attached to the member that is moved up and down by the surface copying roller, the gap between the torch tip and the welding line can always be kept constant even if the travel path is uneven.
