However, in this case, since the electrodes 13 and 14 are formed on the surfaces facing the upper and lower transparent substrates 11 and 12, there are disadvantages of poor transparency and high manufacturing cost. Another disadvantage is that there are many lead-out wiring terminals for the electrodes on the upper and lower transparent substrates 11 and 12, making connection with external equipment complicated.

7. 17. - and comb-shaped electrode 18. 18. - is formed. Then, when the transparent substrate 15 is pressed, the electrodes on the transparent substrate 15 and the comb-shaped electrodes 17 on the transparent substrate 16 are connected to each other at this pressed position.
.. 18, the comb-shaped electrode 17 and the comb-shaped electrode 18 are electrically connected, and the coordinates of the pressed position are detected. According to such a device, the coordinate resolution is low and the comb-shaped electrode 17.18
This is effective when the number of comb-shaped electrodes 17 and 18 is small, but since the direction of the terminal lead-out wiring of the comb-shaped electrodes 17 and 18 is limited, when the coordinate resolution is high and the number of comb-shaped electrodes 17 and 18 is large,
It becomes difficult to form a pattern for terminal lead wiring from the space.

<Structure of the Invention> In the present invention, a plurality of pairs of electrodes, comb-shaped electrodes for X-coordinate detection and comb-shaped electrodes for Y-coordinate detection, are arranged in the X and Y directions on one of two transparent substrates. In a transparent touch panel that detects the X and Y coordinates of a pressed position formed in a matrix, The present invention is characterized in that the terminal lead-out wiring is formed so as to be perpendicular to the direction of the terminal lead-out wiring that commonly connects the detection comb-shaped electrodes.

A transparent touch panel is formed by bonding the upper transparent substrate 1 and the lower transparent substrate 2 with a predetermined gap. Then, by pressing a desired position on the upper transparent substrate 1, the entire surface electrode of the upper transparent substrate 1 at this pressed position and the comb-shaped electrodes 3, 4 of the lower transparent substrate 2 come into contact with each other.
The pair of comb-shaped electrodes 3 and 4 are electrically connected and the X and Y coordinates of the pressed position are detected. 2 to 5 show a method for forming patterns of comb-shaped electrodes and terminal lead wiring on the lower transparent substrate 2.

<Effects of the Invention> As explained above, in the present invention, the terminal lead-out wirings that commonly connect the comb-shaped electrodes for X-coordinate detection and Y-coordinate detection are formed in patterns in directions orthogonal to each other. Even in the case of high resolution and a large number of comb-shaped electrodes, pattern formation of terminal lead-out wiring becomes possible in sufficient space. Moreover, since the electrode pattern needs to be formed only on one side of the transparent substrate, the transparency is good and the manufacturing cost is low.
