Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to print by an ink jet recorder, by providing a film consisting of a specified highly hygroscopic polymer and a water-insoluble binder on a polyester film. CONSTITUTION:A film consisting of a highly hygroscopic polymer capable of absorbing water in an amount of 100-1,000 times of the dry weight thereof and a water-insoluble binder is provided on a polyester film. The content of the polymer in the film is preferably 1-50wt%. When images are printed by an ink jet printer on the polyester film having the film, an ink is absorbed and held by the highly hygroscopic polymer, so that images can be printed clearly, and transfer contamination is prevented from occurring.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Field of Industrial Application The present invention relates to a recording sheet suitable for printing and recording by an Infusiera 1 printer. More specifically, the present invention relates to a recording sheet made of a plastic film, particularly a polyester film, that has almost no water absorption and is suitable for printing and recording with an inkjet printer.

Conventional inkjet printers use ink that does not dry easily in order to prevent clogging of jet nozzles, and the components of this ink generally include binders, dyes, solvents, additives, etc. dissolved in water. Therefore, when printing is performed using the Infusiera 1 to printer, a water-absorbing recording medium such as ordinary paper is used.

By the way, in recent years overhead projectors (OHP)
), it is conceivable to print records on transparent plastic films using an inkjet printer and use them as base paper for OHP, but plastic films, especially the polyester films used as Ol-IP paper, do not absorb water. Due to its poor quality, when printing with an inkjet printer, the ink may run or different color inks may mix, making it difficult to obtain clear records.Furthermore, the ink does not dry easily, so polyester If they remain on the film in an undried state and are overlapped after being printed, transfer stains will occur, which is completely impractical.

Furthermore, the superabsorbent polymer referred to in the present invention is, for example, starch graft-polymerized with acrylonitrile or acrylic acid, and has the ability to absorb 100 to 1000 times more water than drying water. It is b. Furthermore, the binder is required to hold the highly absorbent bamboo polymer and form a film. Therefore, it must be a polymer that is insoluble in water at room temperature. The binder is preferably a water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer in order to uniformly mix with the superabsorbent polymer, and even if the binder is water-soluble, it can be dissolved in water by heating, for example, or by adding an alcoholic or organic solvent. It is preferable to use water-soluble polymers that are possible. Specific examples of such binders include water-dispersed copolyester polyester, water-dispersed acrylic copolymer, water-dispersed polyurethane, highly saponified polyvinyl alcohol,
Examples include methoxymethylated nylon.

The film can be formed by using a coating device such as a normal bar coater, gravure coater, reverse roll coater, knife coater, or the like. Other methods may also be used. The ratio of super absorbent polymer contained in the formed film is preferably from 1[i% to 50wtn1%;
More preferably, it is 1% to 20% by weight. If the ratio of the super absorbent polymer is less than 1% by weight, the water absorption capacity will be insufficient, leading to insufficient clear printing records and insufficient drying of the ink.
If the amount exceeds % by weight, the film becomes weak when the superabsorbent polymer contains ink and easily falls off due to scratching, etc., which is not acceptable in either case. The thickness of the film formed is preferably 1 to 30 microns, more preferably 1 to 20 microns.

On the other hand, binders have excellent film-forming ability, but they are resistant to water.
fi "C: When a film is formed on a polyester film and printed on an inkjet printer, clear printing is not possible and transfer stains occur. A mixture of binders easily forms a film, and the binder suppresses the high swelling properties of superabsorbent polymers to a certain extent, making it possible to obtain appropriate water absorption properties.Furthermore, even if water is inadvertently exposed, the binder can easily form a film. Since it is insoluble in water, it is possible to prevent the film from falling off.
