Abstract

PURPOSE:To offer a PinP television receiver not requiring a tuner, a channel selection circuit and a VIF video detecting circuit for slave screen independently of those for master screen by utilizing an external device such as a video tape recorder or the like provided with a tuner and a channel selection circuit. CONSTITUTION:A P in television receiver is a receiver possible for separate programs on a master and a slave screen by connecting other external device 71 to a video input of the P in P television receiver. When a mode changeover switch 61 and a master/slave changeover switch 62 are thrown as shown in Fig., a signal C for master screen is a video signal (a) through a tuner, a channel selection circuit 11 and a VIF video detection circuit 12, and a signal (d) for slave screen is a video signal (b) from an external device 71. The signal (d) for slave screen is stored in a memory 51 by a clock obtained at a write clock generating circuit 25 by using a synchronizing signal obtained by synchronizing separator circuit 24. Moreover, a slave screen signal is read from the memory 51 by a read clock, inserted to the master screen signal by a slave screen insertion circuit 31 and outputted to a cathode ray tube 33.

There are TR, video guides, etc., and VTR is the most popular among them.
It is widespread. Connect this VTR (with f--) to the video input of the PinP TV, i.e. 71 in Figure 3.
By connecting as a parent and child screen, you can watch separate programs on the parent and child screens, and all the problems of the conventional example can be easily solved. 61 and 62 are a mode changeover switch and a parent/child exchange switch, respectively. Details of both switches are shown in FIG. The drawing numbers correspond to those in FIG.

The small screen signal d is a video signal b (hereinafter referred to as a sub signal) from the external device 71. Therefore, on the cathode ray tube, as shown in FIG. 5(a), the main signal E is output as the parent screen, and the sub signal E is output as the sub screen. When the parent/child exchange switch 62 is switched to a different connection position than the one shown in the drawing, on the CRT,
As shown in FIG. 5(b), the sub signal E is used as the main screen.
However, the main signal is output as a child screen, which means that the main screen and child screen have been swapped. In this way, the switch 62
By configuring the main screen signal C and the sub-screen signal d to be exchanged, the program on the sub-screen that was being monitored can be viewed as the main screen.

The relationship between the switch positions of the mode changeover switch 61 and the parent/child exchange switch 62 will be explained with reference to the output screen on the cathode ray tube in FIG. 6. At the connection positions of the switches 61 and 62 in FIG. 4, the main signal is output to the main screen and the sub signal E is output to the child screen, as shown in FIG. 6 (,). Also, if only the switch 61 is switched to a position other than the connection position shown in the drawing, the sixth

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, the present invention eliminates the need to have a tuner/channel selection circuit and a VIP/video detection circuit for the sub screen independent of the main screen as in the conventional example, resulting in a significant increase in cost. As with the conventional example, other TV programs can be displayed in a reduced size on a part of the main screen. Furthermore, V
Signals from TRs, video desks, etc. can also be reduced and displayed easily. In addition, by providing a simple switch circuit configured to switch the signals for the main screen and sub-screen, the TV signal that has passed through the tuner and channel selection circuit for the main screen is reduced and projected, and at this time, the signal for the main screen and other screens is You can watch TV programs, VTR, video desk signals, etc.
