Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain simultaneous monitor of plural channels with one picture monitor by displaying plural reduced video images while arranging them on one set of video monitor. CONSTITUTION:A control signal is produced to control circuits h, i, j, in response to respective states S1-S4 of a control section 6. A contact A is closed by the control signal of the control circuit (i) in the state S1, the 1st camera signal is fed to a video signal line (k), a signal on signal lines k, l is synthesized on a video mixer 2 and reduced and then stored to a prescribed position of a video signal storage device 4. When the state of the controller changes sequentially as S2-S4, the 2nd-4th camera signals are applied and stored in a prescribed location of the storage device 4. The information stored in the storage device 4 is read sequentially and displayed on a video monitor 7.

(Prior art) Conventionally, in television program operation equipment in a television main control room or sub-control room, television images are monitored by using as many video monitors as there are input television video signals, or by using monitors whose number of images to be displayed is equal to the number of input television video signals. This was done using a single video monitor that could be switched by pressing a button. In the former case, there are disadvantages such as an increase in the number of video monitors and a need for a large space in which the video monitors can be installed.

At the same time, the video character signal generator 3 generates a video character signal representing the characters "1st camera" according to the control signal supplied via the control line j, and outputs it to the video signal line l. The video mixer 2 is connected to the video signal line! The video signals are mixed to produce one composite image signal, and the composite video signal is output to the video signal line e. The composite image has one-fourth the number of pixels of a normal television image so that the image of the first camera is reduced. The video storage device 4 stores information on the synthesized video in a storage portion corresponding to the portion (top left) of the video screen example in FIG. 2 in response to a control signal supplied via the control signal line.

When the control unit 6 switches to the state 82, the control line h* ”
* Corresponding control signals are supplied to j, respectively, and the input video signal switch 1 opens the contact A and closes the contact port, and the video character signal generator 3 connects the "second camera" to the video signal line l. The image storage device 4 outputs a video signal of the characters to be displayed.
stores the information of the composite image in the storage portion corresponding to ■ in FIG. Similarly, when the control unit 6 is in state S3, the input video signal switch 1 closes the contact C, and the video character signal generator 3
generates a video character signal representing the characters 1st VTR;
The video storage device 14 stores the information of the synthesized video in the storage part marked with ■ in FIG. The generator 3 generates a video character signal of the characters 2nd VTR, and the video storage device 4 stores the synthesized video in a storage portion corresponding to the symbol ``2'' in Figure 2. The control unit 6 periodically performs state changes from Sl to 84, and the storage contents of the video storage device 4 are sequentially updated.

The information stored in the video storage device 4 is sequentially read out to the signal line f at the television scanning period. The video converter 5 is connected to the signal line f
The synthesized video digital signal input via the video signal line g is converted into a television video signal and output to the video signal line g. The video monitor 7 receives the 4E signal on the video signal line g and displays a four-part video image shown in the example of FIG. 2 on the video screen. A time period corresponding to one frame of television video is given to the change in the state of the control unit 6 81, 82, 83, 84, and the video monitor 7
Each of the four divided images above is updated once every four frames. The video monitor can simultaneously check the video contents of 4' on one video monitor screen using the contents of the input video and the corresponding text information on this video screen.
