Abstract

PURPOSE:To reproduce no unnecessary message in a composite mail by providing a skip function which does not reproduce an unreproduced part of a message part which is being reproduced at present, but reproduces the next message part, on a composite mail system. CONSTITUTION:A composite message by which a voice message VM and a data message DM are repeated alternately is registered in a mail box 6 provided on a switching system, as one composite mail. The composite mail has in the head a message managing part MC consisting of managing information VMC1-VMCn, DMC1-DMCn such as a classification of each message part VM1-VMn, DM1- DMn, a message length, a message head position, etc. When a composite mail request signal (a) is inputted to a composite mail system CMS through a composite switchboard 2 from a composite terminal CPT1, a mail box managing part 7 starts a reproduction of the composite mail in accordance with the information of the managing part MC. When a skip request signal C is inputted in the course of said reproduction, a message part being in the source of the reproduction is skipped, and the reproduction is executed from the head position of the next message part.

As described above, in the conventional method, the entire composite email consisting of multiple message parts is one playback unit, so message parts that are considered unnecessary by the subscriber who is playing the message are included in the composite mail. Even if it exists,
There was a drawback that unnecessary message parts were also played back every time the composite mail was played back.

This invention was made in order to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks of the conventional method. During playback of a compound mail, the unplayed part of the message part currently being played is not played back, and the playback of the primary message part is started. The purpose of this invention is to provide a composite mail playback method that does not reproduce unnecessary message parts in a composite mail by providing a skip function in the composite mail system and controlling this skip function with a signal from a subscriber terminal. There is.

An example of a compound mail system for realizing this method may have the same configuration as that for realizing the conventional method shown in Fig. 1, and a subscriber terminal that controls the skip function during compound mail playback can The signal is received by the control signal interface unit (9) via the exchange control unit (3). As means for generating the skip control signal from the subscriber terminal, for example, a dedicated key may be provided in the subscriber terminal;
Alternatively, the user may be configured to wear any of the existing keys θ.

FIG. 5 is a diagram showing the operation sequence of compound mail playback according to this method, in which a compound mail request signal a is sent to a compound terminal C.
When inputted by the PT, the composite mail system starts playing the specified composite mail. When a skip request signal C is input during reproduction of a compound mail, the message section currently being reproduced is skipped, the leading position of the first message section is read from the message management section MC of the compound mail, and reproduction is performed from that position. Note that in FIG. 2, the same signals as in FIG. 3 are designated by the same reference numerals.
