- A pickup that reads program information including address information from a disk that has been recorded, a pickup moving means that moves the pickup in the radial direction of the disk, and the latest address information read by the pickup. a counter that performs a counting operation at a constant cycle and sequentially outputs expected address information; a detection circuit that detects a discrepancy between the latest address information of the memory circuit and the expected address passion of the counter; a discriminating means for discriminating whether recorded information on the disc is musical tone information or control information; and when an output of the detecting circuit is generated, the pickup is moved to an expected address or a final read address according to the output of the counter according to the discriminating result of the discriminating means. A disc player comprising: a control circuit that drives and controls the pickup moving means to move the pickup.
