Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent any nonuniformity in both the extension and the thickness of a film, which is formed by applying a photoresist or a photosensitive phosphor slurry to the inner wall of a face panel, by improving the adhesiveness between the said inner wall of the face panel and the photoresist or the photosensitive phosphor slurry by treating the said inner wall with an aqueous surfactant solution before the inner wall is coated with the photoresist or the photosensitive phosphor slurry. CONSTITUTION:A photoresist stripe 2 is provided at the window of a black matrix by applying a photoresist on the inner wall of a face panel 1, and subjecting the photoresist coat to a pattern formation. Here, before the above photoresist is applied to the inner wall of the face panel 1, the inner wall of the panel 1 is washed with hydrofluoric acid, washed with warm water, and washed with pure water containing a surfactant. After the inner wall of the panel 1 is wetted with such an aqueous surfactant solution, an excessive solution remaining on the inner wall of the panel 1 is removed before the above inner wall is coated with the above photoresist. As a result, an excellent photoresist stripe 2 having no nonuniformities both in its extension and in its thickness can be realized.

However, in these cases, if the wettability between the photoresist and the glass surface or the photosensitive phosphor slurry and the glass surface and the black matrix film on it is poor, it may spread to the photoresist film or the photosensitive phosphor slurry film, causing unevenness and film formation. This results in uneven thickness, which causes unevenness and peeling of the black matrix film and the fluorescent film, making it difficult to form a high-quality fluorescent surface.

That is, in the case of a stripe type, for example, a photoresist is applied to the inner surface of the face panel 1 and patterned to form a photoresist stripe 2 in the black matrix window portion (FIG. 1). Further, after forming the black matrix stripe 3, a photosensitive phosphor slurry is applied to the inner surface of the face panel 1 to which the black matrix stripe 3 is attached, and then a photosensitive phosphor slurry is applied for recording, exposure, and
The developing process is repeated for each new color to form phosphor stripes 4 (FIG. 2).

In this case, the surfactant to be used is selected appropriately depending on the composition of the photoresist, that is, its main component and the type of surfactant added for various purposes. The concentration of the aqueous solution is preferably 0.05 to 2%. By wetting the inner surface of the face panel 1 with an aqueous surfactant solution, draining the water, and then applying photoresist, a smooth photoresist stripe 2 with no uneven spread or film thickness can be formed. Thereafter, black matrix stripes 3 are formed by a conventional method.

As explained above, according to the method for forming a color picture tube phosphor surface according to the present invention, the inner surface of the face panel is exposed to a field of light before applying photoresist or photosensitive phosphor slurry.
! Sex drug aqueous solution! By passing through the photoresist or photosensitive phosphor slurry, the wettability between the inner surface of the face panel and the photoresist or photosensitive phosphor slurry can be improved. For this reason, it has an excellent effect of causing uneven spread and film thickness in the photoresist film and the photosensitive phosphor slurry film.
