Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a deaf-mute, etc. to confirm for the transmission of his communication to the other party, by displaying data of key input, and providing a voice synthesis output means transmitting the data as voice, and a means displaying a received voice after recognition. CONSTITUTION:A Kana(Japanese syllabary) sentence inputted with a data input means 2 including Kana-key is displayed on a display 3 for confirmation. Simultaneously, the sentence voice is synthesized at a voice synthesizer and transmitted to a transmitter of a telephone set via a speaker 5 with the depression of a transmission key 4. A telephone pickup 6 inputs a reception voice of the telephone set and gives the voice to the voice recognizer for the recognition of specific words, and the result is displayed on a display 8. Thus, a deaf-mute confirms whether or not the content of his transmission is transmitted to the other party.

In the past, various devices for deaf and dumb people have been proposed. For example, a speech production device has been proposed that allows deaf and dumb people to easily communicate with ordinary people without using sign language or writing. However, when using such a device to contact a scheduled location such as your home via a regular telephone, it is one-sided and it is difficult to confirm whether or not what you intended was communicated to the other party. I couldn't do it.

Next, a message is input by operating the Japanese key of the data input means 2 (step n2). For example, input the message ``Kasawo motsupu kitekudasai''. Next, in step n3, the receiving means 6 of the device main body 1 is set on a telephone and a telephone call is made to the planned home location. In step n4, the ringing tone is recognized, and when the voice recognition means 20 recognizes the ringing tone, the edge LED of the display element 7 flashes to indicate to the operator that the ringing tone is being emitted. If the ringtone is still not recognized, the process moves to step n14, and the sender determines that the ringtone is not recognized.
If the long-term call OK message does not appear, the user must put down the phone.
