Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a carcinostatic pharmaceutical having the directivity to specific internal organs, e.g. the lung, liver, pancreas or lymphatic nodes, on administration to a living body, by encapsulating a fat-soluble carcinostatic agent in a ribosome membrane with a specific phospholipid. CONSTITUTION:A fat-soluble carcinostatic agent, e.g. carboquone, mitomycin C or daunorubicin or actinomycin D, and one or more phospholipids, expressed by the formula (R<1> and R<2> are >=11C alkyl), e.g. dieicosanoyl-, distearoyl-, dipalmitoyk- or dimyristoyl -phosphatidylcholine, are dissolved in an orgaic solvent, e.g. chloroform, ether, isopropyl ether, n-hexane or/and cyclohexane, and a buffer solution, e.g. sodium phosphate buffer solution, is added thereto. The resultant mixture is then emulsified. The organic solvent is then distilled from the emulsion to give a carcinostatic pharmaceutical containing the carcinostatic agent in the ribosome membrane consisting of the phospholipids expressed by the formula.
