Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve steering performance when a ship is at low speed by installing a thrust control mechanism which increases thrust of a propeller.
CONSTITUTION: When steering is applied during slow speed navigation AND circuit 25 gives high level signals as output, because both a timer 16 and a comparator 24 generate high level signals as output, and a selector switch 17 is accordingly tumbled toward output terminal. As a result, blade angle setting signals 27 are increased in a magnification unit 21, while growing up to increased blade angle setting signals 27', and the signals are fed into a discriminating unit 18, so that signals 22 are transmitted to a blade angle control driving device 7, until the blade angle has been increased, consequently the blade angle of the propeller is increased, together with the thrust. Thus, when the thrust is increased, generated water current is increased, thus steering effect shall be enhanced.
