Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain heat sensitive recording materials capable of reversibly recording and erasing informations corresponding to temperature and having high durability by coating a transparent protective film on a heat sensitive layer having matrix material comprising polymers in which fatty acids (derivatives) are dispersed. CONSTITUTION:The following A and B are uniformly mixed in a ratio of about 3:1-16:1 by weight; (A) matrix material comprising polymers selected among polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride copolymers, polyester or so, and (B) organic low molecule substances (e.g. palmitic acid or stearic acid) selected among saturated or unsaturated fatty acids having C10-C30 and esters, amides or ammonium salts of such fatty acids. Then, thus obtained mixture is coated on a substrate 1 such as a plastic or glass plate to form a film-like heat sensitive layer 2, and a protective film 3 comprising transparent inorganic substances such as Al2O3 is applied thereon, thus forming the object heat sensitive recording material.
