Abstract

PURPOSE:To adjust the height of a car by supplying the air pressure generated by a pneumatic source and the atmospheric pressure to a front wheel car-height adjuster and a rear wheel car-height adjuster individually and selectively in on/off operation for controlling car heights in front and rear wheels. CONSTITUTION:A front wheel 1 of a car is suspended by a suspension system provided with a strut device 3 with the function of pneumatic car-height adjustment, coil springs, and others. A rear wheel 2 is supported by an axle housing 5, and this housing 5 is suspended by a device provided with a height adjusting shock absorber 6. The air pressure generated by a compressor 7 is sent to the device 3 and the shock absorber 6 via a pipe 9, a dehumidifier 10, and interception valves 13 and 14. On the basis of signals issued by car-height sensors 28 and 29, respective solenoids of valves 13 and 14, an open air releasing valve 24, and a relay switch 26 are controlled for adjusting the height of the car.
