Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:The aminocarboxylic acid derivative of formula I (n is integer 3W 7) or its acid addition salt.
EXAMPLE: p-(ε-Aminocaproyl)phenylpropionic acid.
USE: An anti-ulcer agent having extremely strong activity to serotonin ulcer. It has little protease-inhibiting activity such as anti-thrombic activity, and low side effects.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by reacting an amino-protected aminocarboxylic acid chloride or formula II (R1 is H; R2 is amino-protecting group; or R1 and R2 together form an amino-protecting group) with a phenylpropionic acid ester of formula III (R is lower alkyl) in the presence of a condensation agent (e.g. aluminum chloride), hydrolyzing the product, and if necessary, eliminating the protecting group.
