Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a means for proper intake heating in an intake system of an engine having a mixed fuel supply system and an intake heating system by increasing the amount of heat generated by said heating system when the alcohol concentration is above the predetermined level.
CONSTITUTION: An alcohol concentration sensor 11 which detects the alcohol concentration and a control 10 which controls the amount of heat generated by an intake heating system (not illustrated) are provided. The control 10 receives the output of the sensor 11 via an alcohol concentration detecting circuit 12 and turns off a relay switch 13 when the alcohol concentration of the mixed fuel 5 is below the predetermined level and connects an electric heater 7 to a power source 14 via a resistor R. When the alcohol concentration of above the predetermined level the control turns on the switch 13 to connect the electric heater 7 directly to the power source 14 to increase the amount of heat generated by the electric heater 7 as compared with the time when the concentration is below the predetermined level.
