Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the direction vector of the sun with simple constitution by providing a photodetector on the side opposite from the photodetecting surface of a lens and detecting the rotating angles of a pair of sun scanning plates constituted by covering both sides of the lens with light shielding plates, during detecting of the solar light. CONSTITUTION:When a sun scanning plate 9 is rotated by a motor 10, the solar light Sl passes the clearance between light shielding plates 16 and irradiates a photoelectric element 5 by transmitting through a lens 17 when a pickup element 12 rotates an angle theta after passing a pickup detector 13. The theta is calculated by a solar vector calculator from the time since the generation of the output signal of the detector 13 till the generation of the output signal of the photodetector 5 and the detected value of the rotating speed of a motor by a rotating angle detector 11. The direction vector of the sun is measured with the simple constitution by independently detecting the angles theta with a pair of sun scanners 14, 14 provided mutually orthogonally.
