Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the non-metallic inclusions in the broadside end parts of a continuously cast slab efficiently by teeming molten metal into a slab casting mold through an immersion nozzle of which the cross sectional area ratio in the bottom holed part to the sectional area of side holed parts is specified and controlling the downward straightforward flow of the molten metal.
CONSTITUTION: A bottom hole is opened in a known side holed immersion nozzle 1, and the ratio Rs between the sectional area S2 in its bottom holed part and the sectinal area 2S1 of its side holes is regulated at 3W15%.
