Abstract

PURPOSE: A prolonged release type nicomol pharmaceutical, obtained by coating a core containing nicomol dispersed in a dispersing medium with an enteric coating, capable of maintaining the absorbability, and usable for lipometabolic improver or peripheral circulation improver, without side effects, e.g. flushing.
CONSTITUTION: The titled pharmaceutical obtained by dispersing amorphous nicomol in a dispersing medium, e.g. D-mainnitol, xylitol, D-sorbitol or polyethylene glycol, preferably granulating the dispersion into spheres, and coating the resultant spheres with an enteric coating agent. The enteric coating agent may be any one soluble at a pH of 4.5W7.5, e.g. methyl methacrylate-methacrylic acid copolymer, is used. The amount of the coating agent accounts for 3W12wt% of the total pharmaceutical. The use of the coating agent provides the suitable control of the release rate in the stomach and moderation of the flushing. The composition of the core is as follows: 20W90wt% nicomol and the remainder dispersing medium.
