Abstract

PURPOSE:To select a data sample having the largest absolute difference as a display sample, by determining the absolute difference between the value of each data sample of a digital data representing electric activity of a heart and the average value of data sample preceding thereto. CONSTITUTION:A signal from an analog signal source 12 such as an ECG (electrocardiogram) wave is converted into a digital sample value at an A/D converter 14, applied to a latch L1 and each data of the group is stored while the samples are shifted in shift registers L2-L4. Each data of the latches L1-L4 is subtracted at subtractors 26-32 with the value of the latch L5 storing the average value of the data sample of the preceding group, and absolute processing is made at absolute circuits 26'-32', the respective output selects the maximum value at comparators 34, 40, 46, and an output is obtained from one of the outputs a'-d' of gates 6''-9'', one output from the latches L1-L4 is set to one of the latches L6-L9 and applied to a display means 25. The average value of the content of the latches L1-L4 is supplied to the latch L5.
