Abstract

PURPOSE: To mitigate shock at the time of gear-shifting and reduce slipping of the power transmitting automobile electromagnetic clutch by controlling semiclutch current and time in accordance with the condition at the time of gear-shifting.
CONSTITUTION: The semiclutch current is controlled according to a clutch hold signal (c) issued when the accelerator pedal is stepped strongly, and with voltage (j) of a reference voltage generating circuit 65 and the triangular wave of an oscillator circuit 66, converted by a comparator 67 into a pulse signal, the width of which will be greater when stepped strongly, providing a greater semiclutch current. The time of semiclutch is controlled according to an acceleration signal (b) and clutch hold signal (c), and with a high, medium or low voltage f1, f2, f3 generated by a reference voltage generating circuit 53 and a rising voltage charged to a condenser 43 upon receiving the gear-shift signal (a), converted by a comparator 54 into a long, medium or short semiclutch time signal (g), and the semiclutch is released through an "AND" gate 55, 56.
