Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable measurement of the titled device with ease by using a plurality of measuring jigs which have cylindrical shape of high accuracy the parrs thereof are cut and polished with size allowances several um's apart respectively and the mutual diameter differences at the cylindrical parts are limited within several tens of mum. CONSTITUTION:Plurality of high accurate spherical bodies with variation tolerances of several mum, apart with each other, for instance, spherical bodies with a diameters of nominal variation allowance, + or -0mum, 5mum and 10mum for the nominal diameter of the concave spherical surface to be measured of 10cm. One part of the spherical body is cut to obtain a cylindrical one, and a measuring tool 10 obrained by making the diameter of said cylindrical part 10a a mutual differnce within several tens of mum is prepared. A spherical body part 10b of the measuring tool 10 is then inserted such that said part contacts with the concave spherical surface 11a to be measured, and the highest position y of the measuring jig 10 is read with a dial gauge 12. By replacing successively a measuring tool 10 with a nominal variation allowance + or -10mum to a jig 10 having a larger nominal variation allowance to measure y, and by plotting a nominal dimension difference x on the axis of abscissa and y on the axis of ordinate, the diameter of the concave spherical surface can be evaluated from an inflecting point of a straight line. Hereby, even for the concave spherical surface a part of which is deformed or deep in the interior of a narrow cylinder, easy and accurate measurements are possible.
