Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize the picking-up of a high-quality stereoscopic image, by installing a changing means of the polarized axis into an optical path which is used for picking-up of the right and left pictures and thus receiving the optical signal in a transmission line mode. CONSTITUTION:When a vertical synchronous pulse is sent to a power supply circuit 700 from a synchronous signal generator 800, a rectangular pulse is applied intermittently to a plarized axis changing device 500 from the circuit 700 based on the TV period. According to the voltage of pulse application, both the cut-off and the transmission occur alternately for optical paths of right and left pictures. Accordingly the time series of optical signals corresponding to the right and left pictures Pl and Pr is obtained. These optical signals are sent to a pickup device 600 to be converted into electric signals. On the other hand, when the vertical synchronous pulse is sent to a mixer 900, the period of the pulse is changed to a synchronous signal having a period double as much as the TV period to be used as the reference signal in case the electric signals corresponding to the right and left pictures are discriminated. As a result, a coincidence can easily be obtained between the space between the reflector mirror in a light wave guide part and each polarizing plate in front of the reflector mirror and the space between the right and left eyes of a human being.
