Abstract

PURPOSE: A fluorescent substance that comprises a specifically composed divalent metal fluorohalide fluoroscent substance containing arsenic and silicon as coactivator of europium, thus showing accelerated phosphorescent emission with high brightness and giving high-sensitive radiation image comversion panels.
CONSTITUTION: Arsenic and silicon are included as coactivators of europium to give a divalent metal fluorohalide fluorescent substance of the formula [MII is beryllium, magnesium, calcium; X is chlorine, bromine, iodine; A is arsenic, silicon; a, x, y, z are in the range of 0.5≤a≤1.25, 0≤x≤1, 10-6≤y≤2×10-1, (preferably 10-5≤y≤10-2), 0<z≤5×10-3, (preferably 10-7≤z≤2×10-3)] and the resultant fluorescent substance is used to give a radiation image conversion panel.
EFFECT: The product shows high-brightness instant emission and thermal light emission.
USE: Sensitized paper and CRT utilizing the instant emission and thermal fluorescence dosimeter utilizing the thermal light emission.
