PURPOSE:To shorten data transfer time in a data communication system in which local and remote communication control processors are connected through plural lines by transferring the initial program of the remote communication control processor and dump information through plural lines. CONSTITUTION:In a data communication system, a local communication control processor (local CCP)1 and a remote communication control processor (remote CCP)2 are connected through plural lines 41-4n. When a dump information transfer command is outputted from a CPU11 to a local CCP12, the command is transmitted to a remote CCP22 through a line and a response signal is returned from the CCP22. Other lines are tested in the same manner. Subsequently when the CPU11 transmits a read command to the CCP22, the CCP22 divides the data stored in a data storage part 224 by a dump information transmitting means 223, adds an address and a byte count to the leading part of each divided data and transmits these divided data to the local CCP12. The local CCP12 edits the received data again and stores them.
