Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent expansion and contraction actions of the titled device from being spoiled due to the deposit of mad by a method wherein the device is attached to a case through an O-ring and is covered by a cover having a diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of a diaphragm upon being contracted and provided with a plurality of holes at the lower part thereof. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical diaphragm 2, attached to the case 1 and formed expandably into the longitudinal direction thereof, is protected by the cylindrical cover 3. A plurality of holes 3a, permitting an external pressure to act on the diaphragm 2, and holes 3b for dropping the mad downwardly, are provided at the lower side of the cover 3. A plurality of holes 3c, improving the stream of water in order to increase the excluding effect of the mad, are provided on the upper side of the cover 3. Further, the diaphragm 2 is constituted with a rubber body 2b provided with a flange 2a of a metal while the O-ring 6 is interposed at a contacting surface between the flange 2a and the case 1.
