Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the S/N through a circuit constitution not requiring adjustment, by interrupting a transmission output of a carrier chrominance signal transmission system with a pulse using a delay due to a filter, for a specified period within a horizontal blanking period.
CONSTITUTION: A luminance signal picked up from an LPF34 is delayed for a prescribed time than a luminance signal from an LPF36. This luminance signal is applied to a synchronizing signal separation circuit 44 via a changeover switch 43 and a horizontal synchronizing signal is separated. This horizontal synchronizing signal is delayed at a delay circuit 45 and applied to a mixing circuit 40. On the other hand, a luminance signal picked up from the LPF36 is applied to a synchronizing signal separating circuit 37, where a horizontal synchronizing signal is separated, and it is given to the circuit 40. The circuit 40 mixes the two horizontal synchronizing signals and outputs a pulse to a switching circuit 41, and the output terminal of an equalizer circuit 12 is grounded in AC manner for the high level period. Thus, during non-transmission period of chroma signal within the horizontal blanking period, noise component can be rejected.
