Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a light transmitting panel equipped with an electronic type curtain to utilize it for show windows, vehicles, etc. by using characteristics of a liquid crystal display device that the device is changed from a light transmitting state to a light shielding state or reversely according to the voltage application or no application. CONSTITUTION:For example, transparent electrodes 17, 17' are fitted to the inside of reinforced window glasses 16, 16' respectively and liquid crystal 18 is enclosed between the electrodes. The inside of a door body 11 is covered with an insulating film 21 and the window glass 14 is set in hollow surrounuded by the insulating film so as to freely up and down. External electrodes 22, 22' are attached to both the sides of the window glass 14 and connected to the transparent electrodes 17, 17' and electrodes 23, 23'. are fitted to the door body 11 so as to contact with the electrodes 22, 22' respectively. An electric power source 24 and a pulse generating circuit 25 are connected between the electrodes 23, 23' in series and a controlling circuit 26 is connected between the electric power source 24 and the pulse generating circuit 25. Subsequently, the circuit 26 is located close to an operation board to enable the operator to perform remote conrol. At the time of no voltage, the liquid crystal layer 18 is turned into a light transmitting state and, when voltage is apllied, the layer 18 is turned into an opaque and light shielding state. Thus an electronic type curtain is produced by the procedure mentioned above.
