Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the working and assembling accuracy of damper constituent parts by forming a fluid film damper of multiple structure to enlarge the effective length of a damper portion so as to widen a gap. CONSTITUTION:A fluid film damper 7 comprises a first damper portion constituent member 8 and a second damper portion constituent member 9, a flange 8a of the constituent member 8 being secured to a housing 6, a flange 9a of the constituent member 9 being secured to a bearing 2 through a flange 3b of a spring member 3. Thus, a first fluid film damper portion 11 is formed between the inner peripheral surface 6a of the housing 6 and the constituent member 9, and a second fluid film damper portion 12 is formed between the constituent member 8 and the constituent member 9. Accordingly, the fluid film damper portion is of double structure round the axis of a rotary shaft 1 between a spring portion 3a of the spring member 3 and the inner peripheral surface 6a of the housing 6, which results in enlarging the effective length of the damper portion 7 so as to widen a gap.
