Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain a high-speed process at a CPU part, by converting the timing pulse signals synchronized with the shift of a printing head into a count pulse signal, a directional signal and a compensating signal, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Timing signals 4 and 5 are fed to an exclusive OR circuit 19 and then to a D-type flip-flop 21 to obtain a directional signal 7 from the output if the flip-flop 21. On the other hand, the output of an RS flip-flop 17 is fed to a monostable multivibrator 18 to use the edge pulse of the fall of the monostable multivibrator 18 for the timing pulse count signal 6. This signal 6 is supplied to a CPU part 3. IN case the direction is reversed, the count-up of a counter is inhibited since the printing head is at the same position for the pulse point before conversion of the direction and the following pulse point after conversion of the direction. In this connection, the compensation signal 8 is delivered to inform the count decision to the part 3 when the direction is reversed.
