CONSTITUTION:In the figure, a spherical-aberration correction body 14 is made of a Schmitt lens or something similar, a supporting frame 15 which is attached in front of a face plate coaxially with the face plate supports the body 14, and an annular body 22 is a translucent shielding body. The shielding body 22 is fixed between the body 14 and a flange 15' which is provided at the front end of the frame 15. The shielding body 22 decreases the amount of light, which passes through the periphery of the body 14 and becomes the cause of deteriorating the resolution of the peripheral part of a picture projected on a screen. Therefore, the resolution of the peripheral part of a picture projected on the screen is improved. In addition, since the shielding body 22 doesn't shield the whole peripheral light, the decrease of the total luminance can be reduced.
