Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the recording current and to achieve vertical magnetizing recording with excellent recording characteristics, by disposing a main magnetic pole with a slope by a prescribed angle from a normal plane orthogonal to a medium running direction to a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A main magnetic pole 30 is disposed with an angle of theta to a normal plane orthogonal to a running direction 31 of an recording medium 11. A recording layer 11c runs toward the arrow 31 between both magnetic poles to the main magnetic pole 30. The recording layer 11c is vertically magnetized with a magnetic field 33 by a coil 14 current of an auxiliary magnetic pole 13. In this case, magnetic lines of force near a main magnetic pole 30a are easily saturated and coarse, resulting that the vertical components are reduced. On the other hand, since the magnetic lines of force near a tip 30b where the main magnetic pole 30 is closer to the recording medium 11 pass through a low magnetic reluctance, the magnetic flux is concentrated and the vertical component is increased, allowing highly sense recording. Further the relation between a tilt angle theta and an output taking the recording current as a parameter is shown in figure.
