Abstract

PURPOSE:To use time codes in common with an NTSC system, for color framing during editing by providing the NTSC system with a table for converting the time codes of the NTSC system into those of a system which performs framing by four succeeding frames. CONSTITUTION:A driving circuit 1, a presetting device 2, a clock generator 3, and a drop frame generation control circuit 4 generate time codes of the NTSC system. The generated time codes are supplied to a time code modulating circuit 5 to obtain a biphase signal, which is supplied from a terminal 6 to a video recorder. The time codes, on the other hand, are converted into frame data X1 (low order) and X2 (high order) by a time code frame data converting circuit 8 according to a color framing table for conversion to four succeeding frame of the PAL-M system. They are compared by a comparing circuit 11 with data Y1 and Y2 from a frame data detecting circuit 13 to generate a control signal for a clock 3. Consequently, the frame numbers of four succeeding frames of a reproduced color television signal are discriminated by the time codes of the NTSC system, facilitating the framing.
