Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the number of communication devices which can be connected in multi-drop connection without lowering the capacity of the driver of the communication devices, by connecting plural transmission lines each other with a repeater without any malfunction. CONSTITUTION:Plural communication devices 1A-1N and 2A-2M are connected respectively to transmission lines 3 and 4 in parallel, and a repeater device 8 connects the transmission lines 3 and 4. A signal from the transmission line 3 is received by the 1st receiver 23 of the device 8, and the signal is transmitted to the transmission line 4 through the 1st driver 24 after the signal is shaped in waveform and amplified. In the same way, a signal from the transmission line 4 is received by the 2nd receiver and transmitted to the transmission line 3 through the 2nd driver 26. When each of receives 23 and 25 obtains outputs, an operation stop signal is supplied to the receiver 25 and the driver 26 or the receiver 23 and the driver 24 from the 1st and 2nd reception switching circuits 21 and 22, and thus, the number of communication devices which can be connected, is increased without lowering the capacity of the drivers 24 and 26.
