Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily obtain a polychromatic polarizing pattern by subliming a sublimable dichromatic dye by heating and allowing it to be adsorbed on a high molecular stretched film subjected to a vapor phase treatment with ionized ions. CONSTITUTION:A polychromatic image having an arbitrary pattern is formed on a carrier 2 made of film or sheet of polyester or the like with a dichromatic sublimable dye by printing or other means. A uniaxially stretched high molecular film is subjected to activation with ionized ions, that is, corona treatment or high frequency treatment in air with oxygen, nitrogen, ionized water, CO2 or the like or plasma treatment in an isolated chamber so as to maintain the stretching effect and increase the dye concn. The carrier sheet 2 holding the sublimable dichromatic dye is superposed on the surface of the treated film 1, and they ae heated and pressurized to transfer the dye onto the surface of the stretched film. In the figure, 3 is a base plate, and 4 is a heating plate.
