PURPOSE:To present a magnetic sensor used for a small-size and high-sensitivity change sensor or the like, by combining a magnetic thin film having the magnetoresistance effect and a magnetic field generating material. CONSTITUTION:Two permanent magnets 3a and 3b are arranged oppositely to each other, and a magnetic thin film element 2 provided with a ferromagnetic thin film pattern 1 having the magnetoresistance effect is arranged between permanent magnets 3a and 3b. The longitudinal direction of the thin film pattern is vertical to a parallel magnetic field H on the plane of the parallel magnetic field H generated from permanent magnets 3a and 3b. An operating member 4 which moves in the direction of an arrow C-C' is connected to end faces in the same side of permanent magnets 3a and 3b. Input and output voltage terminals 1a and 1b to which a DC voltage is applied are formed in the thin film pattern 1, and the change of an output voltage is generated in accordance with the quantity of the movement.
