Abstract

PURPOSE:To transmit other kinds of data normally even if an electric circuit in charge of some kind of data has a fault, by using optical fibers as a loop circuit, and sending various kinds of data through the optical fibers on wavelength- multiplex basis. CONSTITUTION:In data stations provided at adequate points on a loop circuit 110 which uses optical fibers, a multiplexed optical signal inputted from the circuit 110 is separated by optical wavelengths through an optical branching filter 209; a signal with wavelength I1 is inputted as a digital signal to a station controller 200, a signal with wavelength I2 is inputted to a telephone circuit switching device 201 as an audio signal, and a signal with wavelength I3 is inputted as a video signal to an ITV controller 202. The devices 200-202 convert the input optical signals into electric signals to generate and supply a control signal 208 to a telephone set, a TV set, etc., and also convert electric signals into optical signals with wavelengths I1-I3 to multiplex and send the optical signals to the circuit 110 through an optical branching filter 210. The device 200 sends the signal 208 to the devices 201 and 202 to perform switching control and also control data transmission between a computer and a terminal.
